DESCRIPTION:Aboriginal PRINTS is a family literacy program that explores th
 e many ways in which parents can support their children’s literacy develop
 ment. APRINTS explores the importance of Aboriginal culture and values and
  the ways in which families can respect and honour their culture.  \n \nTh
 e Aboriginal PRINTS program attempts to engage parents by helping them:\n•
  value and explore their Aboriginal heritage\;\n• understand and become aw
 are of their own strengths as parents\; \n• understand their vital role in
  their children’s learning\;\n• make links between aspects of traditional 
 Aboriginal culture and their children’s literacy development\; \n• create 
 a literacy-rich environment within their homes and engage their children i
 n literacy activities on a regular basis\; and\n• create stronger relation
 ships with their children through the sharing of literacy and culture.\n\n
 Length of facilitator training: one-day Introduction to Family Literacy (F
 eb. 20) and two days APRINTS (Feb. 21 and 22)\n\nCost: $300. Please regist
